Faith - 10 year pied lovebird confirmed male 10/2/07
==========================================
2/6/08 Faith is doing VERY well. He is out of the hospital cage and back into his home cage. He is gaining weight at a good pace. He is 45g and should be 50g. He seems to be a little bit tamer; he will sit on my hand for about 390 minutes, without biting me! He is happy, chirping and calling out to me.
========================================== 1/3/08 Two days ago, my pomeranian “attacked” Faith playfully. How did this happen? When I am at work or I leave the house, I place Toby in the spare bedroom and close the door. I came home from work, went to get Toby and took him outside to potty. We came back in the house and I let him off the leash. He ran into the living room. I heard a squeaking noise; he doesn’t have any squeaky toys so I ran to investigate. Sure enough, Toby was playing with Faith way too roughly. Apparently, Faith had escaped from his cage (I have since remedied the escape route.) I grabbed Toby and gently tossed him aside telling him no. I had to chase down Faith to pick him up. He did have some blood on him. He wasn’t bleeding though. I immediately placed him in his cage for him to calm down. After an hour I got him and cleaned him up as best I could and to see if there were any wounds. All I could see was his left eye was swollen shut. I placed him back in his cage and placed a heating lamp over him. It was 10 at night so I had to wait until the next day to take him to vet. ==========================================
11/5/07 Faith has been backing into my hands and allowing me to scoop him up into my hands, then onto the shoulder he goes. Today, he snuggled into my hand and allowed me to scratch him on his head and cheek for a bit.
========================================== 10/23/007 Faith is now a huge part of the family. He is still slightly afraid of hands, but deals with it.
========================================== 10/7/2007 Faith will sometimes allow me to pick him up with my hands without playing chase. He does cuddle me on my beck, groom my hair, and give kisses on my cheek. ========================================== 10/3/2007 Faith's blood DNA is in, FAITH IS A BOY!! I may try to change his name to Tye Dye. However, being Faith for 10 years, he may not respond that quickly. He will now let me know that he wants to come out of his cage and that he wants to be with me. He has a certain chirp for it. He just loves hanging out with me on my shoulder while I do anything. Of course, he does get placed back in his cage to eat and drink. We have a routine. I go in the cage to get him. I wrap my hand around him. He lets go of the bars and lays on his back while I take him out. I place him on my chest and pet him for a few minutes. Then he gets my shoulder. ========================================== 9/30/2007 Faith gets a new home!! Its 18"L x 18"W x 23"H. He seems to really like the space and layout.
========================================== 9/28/2007 I first inquired about Faith on 9/6/2007 through an ad on Craigslist Classifieds. Faith's previous parent asked me some questions and I answered to the best of my ability. We spoke on the phone for about 30 minutes and she decided I could add Faith to my family. The only problem in getting Faith; Faith was in Garderville, Nevada and I am in Sun Valley Nevada, about 1 1/2 hours away. I didnt have the transportation. On 9/22, I emailed Faith's mom and told her I had the transportation. She suggested we meet in Carson City. I agreed. I brought Faith home and let Faith just hang out in the cage and then outside of the cage. This evening, around 10pm, she allowed me to pick her up and cuddle with her. She even hung out on the couch with me for a bit.
